Not sure what this pilar says but probably something like this is a really steep, rocky trail please watch your step! Up we go...
Little rock climbing man.
What an amazing day spent with my little man. We climbed Mt. Katsu, just outside Nago, about 40minutes north of where we live. We started out looking at a really steep set of stone stairs and then headed up. Lots of rocks to scramble over and over and over. About half way up we came across a vertical cave! Looks like people actually descend into it as there is a rope tied around a tree that hangs into the cave. A very dark cave and by the looks of it a very deep cave too. Needless to say we did not do any spelunking today! Brice did, however, enjoy his new word of the day and persisted to say he wanted to be a "spelunker" now. Hmmmm... will have to see about that one.
Once past the cave the trail evened out and then the real climbing started. A little hand over foot to get over some decent size rocks and 2o minutes later we reached the peak. Amazing views of the mountains and the East China Sea. It was a kind of hazy day so the colors were a bit muted but beautiful none the less. We enjoyed the view for a little while then headed back down.
It was a fabulous day for a hike. Beautiful scenery, good exercise and a priceless adventure spent with one of my most favorite dudes in the world!
